My ds is 9 and yesterday started with a temp of 37.6 and had a sore throat and a runny nose. He had a very unsettled night, lots of tossing, turning and shouting in his sleep and this morning his temp is 37.9. Could it be Corona? He doesn't have the main symptoms of loss of taste/smell or a cough.

I'm keeping him off school but my dd has gone in.

Your child has a high temperature.

The q
Whole house need to isolate.

Go and pick up your child from school (in a completely social distanced way), get anyone else in household home and arrange a test!

He has one of the 3 symptoms. Isolate whole household and order tests. Sorry it's a pain but there is no grey area here.

Keepdistance · 07/09/2020 08:48

Temp is one of the 3.
Also body temps are usually lower in the morning and rise during the day

catchyjem · 07/09/2020 08:58

As the others said, you need to isolate as a family and order him a test. It's such a pain, I'm having to do it right now too, but that's the way it is.

It doesnt particularly sound like coronavirus (although you should act as if it is until you know otherwise) but symptoms are very variable in both adults and children. Best thing to do is get a test.

Racoonworld · 07/09/2020 12:21

You need to get him tested and whole house isolates until you get a negative test result. Temperature is one of the main symptoms. Why did you send your dd to school? This has been widely publicised for months how do people still not know this?

OverTheRainbow88 · 07/09/2020 12:35

Did you take their temp straight away or wait a while after he woke up? My
Kids always get hot under their duvet so I wait an hour before I take their temp.

trevorandsimon · 07/09/2020 17:50

We are isolating and I've ordered a test. Such a pain
