A and E for Covid test

A friend's 6 year old son has been coughing since Tuesday. Last night friend took his son to A and E to get a covid test. Not because he was worried about breathing, but purely to get a test.

Arrrrrghhhhh. I really hope the test is negative, or friend has just taken his infectious child to hospital. I really thought people knew by now to get a test at home or a test centre, not go to the doctor or A and E.

And today people are coming round for an anniversary party.

I despair.

A&E here won't do a test.

A&e will only test if they need admitting. Everyone being admitted with symptoms or not in a&e are tested.

Surely they just sent him home?
