BBC News improving?

Seems to be getting a bit less doom mongering and more factual and positive?

Real progress has been made in the past few months on how best to treat patients who fall seriously-ill with coronavirus - for the overwhelming majority it only causes a mild illness

"Many of the new cases are being seen in young adults who are now out more, either working or socialising.

They are at very low risk of complications so this may not seem too concerning - after all, society has to function - but the fear remains that this could lead to the frail and vulnerable catching the virus."

Also noticed this one recently.

Yes that is good news. It does make you realise how much we are brainwashed by tv. We were all in lockdown watching the news constantly, which was all about deaths, no wonder there is a lot health anxiety in the population.

Some of the BBC stuff has been terrible.

We stopped watching the news as it was so negative, even when the news was getting better. There were so many good stories to be told but all news seems to be miserable.

I've realised that my nervous breakdown in April was in large part caused by my addiction to "news" and I've had to really adjust how I engage with it. I remember obsessively buying papers after 9/11 when I was only 12. I think it's always felt as though if I knew as much as I could, I'd be more in control or more able to avoid danger. It's terribly destructive though and I'm going to really cut down.

Same here. Never watch it anymore! I was glued all day at one point. My mental health improved hugely once I turned the news off

It just shows you what an effect stuck inside watching negative news has on your mental health, no wonder some people are still to scared to go outside the front door without good reason. I do worry what effect this will have on the next generation, there must be a lot of terrified children going to school this week.

@Beebityboo that’s interesting, I can’t sleep before scouring all the news sites and I think it’s for the same reason. I must stop.
Hope you’re feeling better x
