A result past 50 hours wait

Has anyone had a result when they’ve had to wait longer than 50 hours or do I just give up?
Thought this testing was supposed to help us get on with our lives instead just causes stress and anxiety

Mine was 8 days

buenavistabelle · 02/09/2020 16:39

3 days here

morefun · 02/09/2020 16:52

Is this a drive through, or a home test?

My home test results NEVER arrived (well, it was a month ago). Drive through took 36 hours. Might be worth popping to a local drive through to try again if you are desperate for results like I was (to get son back to childminder and stop isolating).

Merename · 02/09/2020 16:54

We’ve had a few tests between us in our house. The main site, results always back within 24hrs, but the mobile popup site run by the army took 4 days exactly.

YouAndMeAndTheDevilMakesThree · 02/09/2020 16:58

If you've got your barcode number, ring 119 to chase it up. Our testing centre took my test but cocked up actually linking the sample to my details so I didn't get sent the result.

Lindy2 · 02/09/2020 17:07

That sounds too long to me.
DH had one at the weekend and got the results after just under 20 hours. Test at 1.30pm, results at 9am. It was a SE drive through.

Spaghettihooplas · 02/09/2020 17:28

@morefun it was a drive thru in SE, all the kids are desperate to go back to school. It’s such a shame for them. I thought this would be quick and easy all the people I know have had them back within 24hrs.

Woah 8 days @Farlow!
Was it negative?

Mine was SE as well. It might come through in the night by the way, I got an email at 1am and a text in the morning.

Farlow · 02/09/2020 18:08

Woah 8 days *@Farlow*! Was it negative?
Yes negative. Dh and I got tested at the same time. His result was back within 24hrs, it makes no sense!
Spaghettihooplas · 02/09/2020 18:16

Fingers crossed we get it soon

Thanks for your replies everyone, strange to see that everyone’s results vary dramatically, I have a bit of hope now. I really don’t want to have to isolate anymore but will of course if it’s positive

Is everyone fit and well now?

flindorama · 02/09/2020 18:21

Scotland here. First off couldn't even get a test within 200 miles or a ferry to NI last Wednesday. Managed to then book drive through one about 30 miles away for the Thursday at 1030am. We then waited until 6am on Sunday morning so almost 72hrs. Ridiculous length of time and had to keep all 3 kids off obviously.

AvoidingRealHumans · 02/09/2020 18:26

Essex here and my son had a test on Sunday 4pm, results back Monday 4pm.
My mum in the SW had a test 12pm on Monday and is still waiting on the results.
Looks like it can vary a lot.

kimlo · 02/09/2020 18:31

I had a postal one for the zoe app a couple of weeks ago. I had given it up as lost, then the results came back on day 10.

I spoke to my doctor about something else and mentioned it and she said a few people had said the same thing that day so they seemed to be having issues.

The one before that was back quick.

FuzzyPuffling · 02/09/2020 18:49

Mine was taken at home by nurses (I live very rurally) and I got the result by text 24 hrs later. I thought that was very efficient.

FuzzyPuffling · 02/09/2020 18:51

Mine was a pre-op NHS required test, not a symptomatic or contact one.

Spaghettihooplas · 02/09/2020 22:51

Thanks everyone, it helped to read your replies while waiting. I found it very stressful.
Good news is we got the results finally and they are negative. Kids are all well so we can get on with things now 🎉
