Coronavirus and work

I work as a nanny for a family. Back in March there was a verbal agreement from the mother. She said to me if any of her children displays respiratory symptoms she will notify me and I won't be required to attend to work. She asked me to do the same, to let her know if I have any symptoms.

A few weeks ago, her children developed symptoms of cough and sore throat. She broke her side of the agreement and brought me into work without telling me her children were off form. She is a medical professional and she diagnosed the children with colds. She never tested them so they were never confirmed as a negative or a positive.

I got lucky this time. Its been a few weeks now and there's no other symptoms in any of us and she was right, it was colds. I was very annoyed because I think by right, she should have isolated her family and that would have meant not have me attend to work until she had a covid status confirmation.

Naturally I'm dreading continuing to work for the family because I ve been following all the guidelines to minimise risk of myself picking up the virus, but my work is the biggest risk of all. I'm making progress to get out from there.

There's a new issue now. They have some family members travel from mainland Europe and the visitors are staying for a few weeks with the family. This is further risk for me, as far as I'm concerned concerned. Ever since the virus emerged from China, I viewed travelling and flights as high risk. The family could have had a possible exposure on the flight. They probably won't be infectious just yet with an incubation period that is up the 14 days. It's natural to say, I'm dreading attending to work next week. Another covid risk with my employer throwing me under the bus.
