Advice needed urgently

DD (2 years) has fever, and diarrhea DS (3 months) has fever, diarrhea and sickness.

I have fever and change in taste/sometimes no taste.

Advice line requested we get tested. Tried booking online and nothing. Called 119 and they faced the same problem.

Will obviously continue trying.

Husband shows no symptoms. His boss is demanding he continues to work.

He works in drainage so spends most of it in general away from people, but obviously sometimes has to enter homes/buy petrol.

Surely this can't be right? His boss is now having a go at him via text from what husband has told me. As he "can't keep coming to him with problems" . Yes he has had to have some time off lately due to serious health conditions going on.

But jesus. Is every company just flouting the whole "stay home if you have or live with someone with symptoms" thing?!

Wow. You have a lot on your plate and your husband’s boss is an idiot. Is it a large company? Can he go higher up?

Yetiyoga · 27/08/2020 15:39

Yes, this is my fear.

Are you able to get home tests?

MoodyMooCow · 27/08/2020 15:42

Sadly that is as high as he can go.

I am just appalled. Yes, he has had to take time out for hospital things, but every single one has been proved as needed for our son and a couple for my elderly seriously ill father who we live with.

(Naturally we are isolating from him and my mum atm as we are fortunate to have an annex on the side)

I just can't believe someone can be so ignorant to flout the rules. God knows who he may come in contact with that is high risk and the damage it could cause them and their family.

Hopefully we haven't got it, but we don't bloody know until we can manage to magic up a bloody test! Boss just keeps saying go tonight... but we can't get one. Not even one sent home for us.

And boss added more jobs on him since my husband informed him of this, even through until tomorrow too. So its clear he won't be budging.

Will the boss ask for evidence of a test? Could your husband just tel him you have tested positive in order to not go in, as with loss of taste and smell you almost certainly do have it (not many illnesses have that specific symptom)

KitKatastrophe · 27/08/2020 15:54

Also to be honest with a 3 month old I would call 111 if diarrhoea and sickness lasts more than 24 hours. They can get dehydrated quite easily at that age.

MoodyMooCow · 27/08/2020 15:57

He would most definitely ask for evidence.

119 did ask for the company my husband worked for after I mentioned they still expect him to work. I hope they do something about it...

Oh i will do, my son only started showing symptoms this morning. My daughter has had diarrhea for the last 3/4 days but only got a temperature yesterday. I started feeling poop yesterday too.

Son is still taking bottles, although not as much. Daughter has lost all interest in food since yesterday morning and is usually a little dustbin
