Would you meet close friends indoors for food?

Just that question really.

Would you meet up with friends indoors at someone's house to share food and drinks? How many would you deem to be an acceptable amount of people...?

In England that is

InFiveMins · 24/08/2020 21:24

Yes and there would be no limit on how many I met up with either.

Iwouldbecomplex · 24/08/2020 21:24

Yes 100%. I have done.

Camomila · 25/08/2020 12:31

Yes, we see my parents and DBro regularly (he's in their bubble) and DH had his best mate round for takeaway last week. We live in my home town and DH hadn't seen any of his family/friends since Feb.

We're in an area with low cases and have probably had it already (DBro had a positive antibody test, The DC and I got ill a week after him in March before lockdown)

TurquoiseDress · 25/08/2020 13:34

Yes we've done it already with a few friends who are couples with children.

Take the viewpoint that you've got to get on with some semblance of normal life, I refuse to just remain in our home/garden & not see friends whether that be outside or inside.

Waspnest · 25/08/2020 14:04

No, we've met up with one other household in their garden (they cleaned their downstairs loo and reserved it for us!) and I've sat outside in a beer garden with three friends. We're getting shopping etc for two elderly shielding households so are still being pretty careful. With the amount of mixing described on this thread I can see some schools having temporary shutdowns again in September.

Namara · 25/08/2020 14:08

No I wouldn't.

HoldMyLobster · 25/08/2020 17:36

I have not done so yet - which is good, as I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor about whether I should get a Covid test based on my symptoms.

Pootle40 · 25/08/2020 17:41

Yes definitely - did so the first Saturday we could in Scotland in mid July

eeeyoresmiles · 25/08/2020 18:14

No, we're sticking to the guidelines here.

wineandcheeseplease · 25/08/2020 18:23

yep

Jenasaurus · 25/08/2020 20:20

My DS 31st birthday on 11th next month, Ive been invited to him and his GFs flat (no garden) , as has my other DS and his GF and my DD and her BF so thats 7 people indoors (3 households) not sure whether this is allowed or not but I see each of the individually so not sure of the difference if all together.

Racoonworld · 25/08/2020 20:35

@Jenasaurus if your’re in England it’s not allowed.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 26/08/2020 13:31

Yes, my uncle and his partner have been round and we sat indoors. It was their choice and they are coming round again next weekend.

Egghead68 · 26/08/2020 13:59

No

WouldBeGood · 26/08/2020 14:05

Yes

viccat · 26/08/2020 15:06

Personally no, it's not worth the risk to me.
I live alone and feel more vulnerable because of that though - if I got ill with covid I would have no one to help me.

Fishyfinger · 26/08/2020 15:11

Yes. Only once. Me and two friends met at one house for dinner.

Also DS has met friends outdoors in a garden. Only about 6 of them but obviously all from different households. He has depression and spends most of his time alone in his room so I'm pleased that he is going out to see his friends.

Other than that we've all stuck to the regulations here. None of us go out to work or the gym. I am the supermarket shopper. That's it.

Baaaahhhhh · 26/08/2020 15:14

Yes, but only with one other family. DD has had a couple of friends over, but they are in a flat bubble, so that is OK by me.

Gingerfish91 · 26/08/2020 23:47

Yes I would and have.
