Would you meet close friends indoors for food?

Just that question really.

Would you meet up with friends indoors at someone's house to share food and drinks? How many would you deem to be an acceptable amount of people...?

Nope, garden only.

goodwinter · 23/08/2020 20:38

Yup we've had visitors. Only one household at a time though.

Han334 · 23/08/2020 20:40

Yes guidelines which the government want us to follow

lazylinguist · 23/08/2020 20:49

Only with one other household indoors, as per guidelines. Not because I'm worried about getting the virus, but because I'm generally a rule follower.

Topseyt · 23/08/2020 20:56

Yes. I have. With close family. For various reasons the family circumstances mean that I will continue to do so.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 23/08/2020 21:02

No. I will not do anything that goes against the Govt guidelines as I need to protect someone my household is in a bubble with.

flowerycurtain · 23/08/2020 21:10

Not eaten inside but had one other family over. We eat outside but the other family do come in to use the loo, bring in dishes, get a drink etc.

Wouldn't do more than one family and whilst we can sit outside why not (garden dependent obviously)

Actually, I skipped a social last weekend with 2 other families so 3 altogether. Planned outside but due to rain the host said happy to be inside. I wasn't - 8 people squished round a table for 6 v a picnic in their field. Didn't feel happy with that

usernotfound0000 · 23/08/2020 21:26

Yes, me and my family (4 of us) have been for food at a friends house, also 4 of them.

I dont feel happy with it but I wanted to gauge peoples views as I seem to he the only one hesitant. The forecast is looking too bad to do it outside.

Only friends with toddlers for playdates with playdate snacks. Social distancing is clearly not 100% as toddlers don't always co operate - and we tend to prioritise injury prevention...

RealityExistsInTheHumanMind · 23/08/2020 23:20

Done it at friends

Couple hosting
next door neighbours
brother of one of hosts
me

All vulnerable by age but nothing else.

stayathomer · 24/08/2020 06:35

No, but I've just had covid

Blankblankblank · 24/08/2020 08:17

No as DH is v high risk.

MabelMoo23 · 24/08/2020 08:29

I’m due to go a friends do on Saturday and there will 12 of us (including 4 small children) from 4 households but we will be outside

I know, it’s breaking the rules. Our host is fine with it, my husband is a bit tetchy about it. I’m very undecided

Mydarlingsleepthief · 24/08/2020 08:30

Yes, plus I’m in Manchester

MayFayre · 24/08/2020 08:31

Yes, but almost all my friends are more cautious than me and won’t do so.

Been for a pub lunch with one other household and that’s it.

m0therofdragons · 24/08/2020 08:33

Only one other household at a time inside for us. If I didn’t follow the guidance then dh died of Covid I couldn’t live with the guilt.

NameChange84 · 24/08/2020 08:33

No way. I’m sticking to the guidelines and in a hotspot.

Hoppinggreen · 24/08/2020 08:33

I would happily do this bit under local lockdown guidelines we arent allowed. I cant go and sit in my Mums garden either, but I can meet 5 friends in a pub garden

DancingCatGif · 24/08/2020 08:36

I think my problem with it is that if everyone thinks like that, there will be a lot more cases.

Everyone makes their own decisions, I'm not judging because I've also met people but I'm aware that every time I do so, there is more risk of it spreading and this carrying on for longer and longer.

userxx · 24/08/2020 09:20

Yes, plus I’m in Manchester

You rebel 😏

HoneyBee03 · 24/08/2020 09:25

Yes, we've had some quite big groups round for dinner and drinks. I don't know anyone who is bothered by the guidelines.

wheresmymojo · 24/08/2020 09:43

Yes, but I stick to the guidelines so only one other household at a time.

ineedaholidaynow · 24/08/2020 09:45

@HoneyBee03 do you or the people you invite round have school aged children?

Lazypuppy · 24/08/2020 09:46

Yep no issues. We've done 6 adults and 2 babies, so 3 households.

I wouldn't even think anything of it anymore
