Anyone else had lost test results?

So my DD has cold symptoms and temperature Tuesday so booked her in for test at a drive thru, they asked if we all wanted testing so said yes fine.
No results received after 48 hours so I called 119 to ask what I should do and they said they have a team that they refer lost results over to, and they will look in to it, in the meantime keep isolating until 2 weeks is up or until clear test. I asked if they can just re test and he said they aren't supposed to recommend that but there's nothing to stop me ringing up to book another...what the hell is going to happen is September when the DC's are back to school picking up bugs that will present a little like COVID are we to permanently isolate or what Confused

Someone I know, yes. They were retested.

It all sounded utterly chaotic, noone ever phoned back, the onus is entirely on the patient (who may be quite unwell) to chase and the lost test never resurfaced.

Yes, my dd(17), we just isolated whilst we waited for a test that never turned up.

AlandAnna · 13/08/2020 19:30

Yes, my colleague. Inexcusable really.

Yes, extended family member tested due to fever. Test lost, no re-test, told to isolate for 14 days.

@conkersarebonkers yes that's what they told me to do, kind of defeats the object of the whole test and trace thing if we are to just isolate with symptoms though as everyone we have been in contact with won't be contacted as there's no positive result...very chaotic
