Have you had an antibody test?

I want to see if I have had Covid and do an antibody test but where can you get them done? Not the finger prick home test that doesn’t seem to be very accurate but with a real blood test. In south/west London area.

Yes I went to BUPA. Proper blood test, £65 I think. Very good and results within 3 days. You can book online.

MayFayre · 11/08/2020 23:37

I had the BUPA one too. Results came back in less than 24 hours. Negative, unfortunately. Dh also negative but was convinced he’d had it back in February/March,

DebbieFiderer · 11/08/2020 23:39

I had one done through work (NHS). It came back negative, which is what I suspected, as the only symptoms I had were in January, before it really entered this country.

barbites · 12/08/2020 00:27

Yes had a blood test (nhs worker) it was negative.

Darcydashwood · 12/08/2020 05:45

Is it true that if you have an NHS routine blood test at the moment you are sometimes offered an anti body test? I’ve heard of a few people this has happened to. I’ve got routine bloods coming up for low iron so will find out I guess!

PineappleUpsideDownCake · 12/08/2020 05:57

I want one but nearest bupa is over an hour away and superdrug 2 hours!!!

I had suspected covid in march. Would I even still have the antibodies now?

Gingernaut · 12/08/2020 06:02

I'm sure I had it back in March, but went for an antibody test at my OH clinic in June.

Negative.

MaveyWavey · 12/08/2020 06:11

I had one through work (MHS). I was convinced I had it in late feb/early march but mist have been just a bod standard chest infection. Test was negative.

honeylou42 · 12/08/2020 06:35

I had the antibody blood test offered through working in the NHS, it came back positive Shock. I had a really heavy cold at the end of March and lost my sense of smell, I had the swab test which came back negative and was sent back to work on the back of those results, which I feel pretty bad about.

Darcydashwood DD had an emergency operation a couple of months back. She was given a Covid test, but not offered an antibody test.
