Do we need to isolate?

My son started nursery full time on Tuesday and has developed a cold over the last two days. He does not have a temperature or cough. He just has a runny nose and is sneezing a few times. I am guessing it is because he has started nursery, and colds are expected in the first few weeks due to their immune systems.
Are we all supposed to be isolating?

I don't think no

TrindleGin · 08/08/2020 17:45

Both my sons have colds and it is going to happen .. we are negative

OpheliasCrayon · 08/08/2020 17:55

No I wouldn't

labyrinthloafer · 08/08/2020 17:56

The guidance is cough, temp, loss of taste/smell.

But I'd check with nursery before taking him back as they may have their own rules about colds.

Runny/blocked nose is on the list as a possible symptom I’m sure albeit not one of the three main. You may need to test before nursery let you back.

My daughter had a cold last week nursery were fine. I did check first and they said there is a summer cold going around.

stayathomer · 08/08/2020 19:03

I'd say ask the nursery

Newmumtobe7654 · 08/08/2020 19:12

Thank you all, I will email his nursery to double check :) I might order a test to be on the safe side too. Thank you.

I'm smiling a wry smile at "for the first few weeks"😄

You might get off lightly with all the hygiene measures though.

Newmumtobe7654 · 08/08/2020 19:59

@eurochick I honestly thought it would only be the first few weeks 😩🙈

We have our first runny nose/ sneezing since restarting nursery.
No other symptoms at all, so he was in a normal yesterday and will be Monday.
