I have tried to scan a few threads but can't find the answer. Does anyone living in France have any feeling for what will happen over August, travel bans to the south of france/massifs/west coast? I have just checked holiday prices in some areas and there is availability at much lower cost than usual in some hotels mid to late August, We live in north france and are due to leave for hols on 16th and I need to manage dc's expectations!!

I'm in SW France. Tourism is very much "business as usual" although some regular local events have been cancelled.

The "rules" vary from village to village depending on the of the local mayors e.g. dancing allowed/not allowed, masks mandatory/not mandatory in outdoor markets.

The local economy relies heavily on summer tourists and the last couple of weeks have seen a massive increase in French/UK/Dutch visitors. Great for the economy but also a little worrying for us locals as the number of infections is (unsurprisingly) increasing. March to July we had very minimal infections (and 5 deaths) in our department of 250000 people.

Worth noting, as has been mentioned elsewhere, that the French figures include their overseas territories.
