Face masks slip when talking, any ideas?

Anyone any ideas on how to stop face masks slipping? Are there any better styles?

I've got four, two different cupped ones one of which is adjustable, a pleated one and one my friend made. I thought it was because my face might be smaller, but making the adjustable one tighter made it worse. Just answering a cashier's question, they start to slip and I have to pull up.

Mine don’t slip at all.

I use the pleated type then pull the pleats open so they are high up my nose and cover my chin. Then adjust the straps so that the sides are flat against my cheeks - there shouldn’t be any gaps between your face and the mask as that will let Covid in/out through the gap.

If all of yours are slipping and they’re different types then I’d guess you’re not making the straps tight enough. If you have a very small face maybe try children’s masks?

Thanks for your reply. Only one of my masks is adjustable, but made it worse if adjusted. I've accepted I'll have to get some others to try. Three of them are cupped, so I will definitely get another pleated one which can be adjusted.

Any other suggestions still welcome.

I find this with most of them. If I open my mouth wide e.g yawn or laugh too heartily, my chin, which the mask is hooked over pulls it off my nose. Hi, I feel be anything with a wire over the nose bridge is good.

I made some and then shove some narrow wire in through the stitching.

@janetmendoza - but what’s the point of those ones? They’re chiffon and look like only 1 layer, so they don’t meet the WHO criteria for actually blocking the virus. Are you just wearing a mask because you have to?
