Is anyone believing any of these the most recent one is
All schools closed forever
Riots
People dying on the streets
Lockdown for 3 months

Etc etc ... I don't believe them but some people do !!

They are saying look at Australia that has been locked down again

The schools one is definitely true. Closed permanently and the old school buildings converted into massive social-distancing pubs. You heard it here first.

DebLou47 · 05/08/2020 17:54

So no education ever you are saying ?

OP posts:
knittingaddict · 05/08/2020 18:17

Definitely no education ever again. Liberate the kids!

Sounds plausible.

Remmy123 · 05/08/2020 18:19

Yeah no education ever again .. turn the schools into hospitals for covid patients as there will be several waves of this. We should stay in lockdown for years until there is a vaccine, all lose our jobs etc .. 👍

mrshoho · 05/08/2020 18:19

Teachers are to be retrained as bar staff and bouncers in great big mega social distancing pubs

Horehound · 05/08/2020 18:20

Lol they're having you on op.

Stop listening to conspiracy theories. People who buy into then are spread them around are not very good at critical thinking. And they fail to understand how the world works in reality and they refer to everyone as "they" and "them" as if the people in high up jobs with power are really special breeds of human that we paupers could never relate to.

DebLou47 · 05/08/2020 18:22

Ha ha I know I have had to ignore my friend who keeps telling me to research the vaccines my kids had x grrr

I really dislike how some people seem to revel in conspiracy theories on this, when you'd think reality is enough!

I guess it's not impossible that there could be some unrest if too many people lose their jobs at once and there isn't enough support for them.

But the vaccine progress is looking hopeful. I can see schools being unable to open for - at the very worst - a few more months, but surely if it starts looking like it'll be longer than that, then there will be some kind of action by government - a quick building of temporary classroom huts in all hotspots or something, to try to help with distancing. They've already bought a year of Oak National Academy online lessons, haven't they? So I guess they could fall back on offering that alongside more fuloughing for parents. It'll probably be a mess, but they can't let it get too desperate if they ever want to be elected again. It definitely won't end up being no education again! :-D

Things like that should be in place by now, but perhaps it'll take everything messing up before they actually do something better.

DebLou47 · 05/08/2020 19:15

Thanks I am being a bit irrational today ha

Apparently the vaccine is to control us Smile

wagtailred · 05/08/2020 19:23

I wonder what they are conspiring to achieve. I mean whats the point of no schools or controlling us. The rich people at the top already own all the stuff and already seemingly have all the power.

PJ6M · 05/08/2020 20:15

When a conspiracy theorist says "research", what they really mean is to watch hour upon hour of unqualified nut jobs on YouTube who think the world is flat and the Queen is a reptilian overlord.

Your friend has been groomed into a predatory online world and she'll soon be gladly handing her money over for necklaces that protect her from 5G and courses that tell her the universe will give her a Ferrari if she believes it enough.

I'm afraid she needs help.

HeresMe · 05/08/2020 20:21

They aren't even properconspiracy theories, just scaremongers talking bollocks.

Horehound · 05/08/2020 20:28

I bet she's a chiropractor. They all seem to buy into conspiracies weirdly.

Averyslover · 05/08/2020 20:51

I’m on a preppers group on Facebook. The women are all about having enough food in the house, learning new skills like preserving veg, etc. The men are devastated that it’s ‘just’ a pandemic. They can’t use their weapons and can’t go in to the woods to their big out sites. It’s ridiculous. They keep getting excited when more companies close down as there is going to be anarchy apparently. We will have no water, electric or gas. It will be a case of the best man wins. The conspiracy theories are awful.

LizzieBlackwell · 05/08/2020 20:55

Sod Australia - Pizza gate, Hillary Clinton eats children, Hollywood film stars are devil worshipers and Bill Gates and Soros started COVID to make money from vaccines - is where’s it at Wink

DebLou47 · 05/08/2020 20:57

Sorry but laughing at these

Given that D.D.Palmer supposedly got the idea for chriropractic from a ghost and was very anti-vax and anti-medicine, it makes a kind of sense.
duffeldaisy · 05/08/2020 21:14

"Apparently the vaccine is to control us Smile"

That's my favourite one (though terrifying that some people actually believe that!). That a government would go to the trouble of creating a global pandemic and presumably some kind of technology so tiny that it fits into a needle just to get information or control the population -to do what exactly?

It'd be a lot easier just to hack into social media accounts, or if they do have microscopic chip technology then to just put it in the water supply or something. Messing up global economies and leave outcomes to random biology sounds like the absolute last thing they'd want to do. If anyone does believe that kind of thing they probably could do with some help because it's completely irrational.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/08/2020 21:24

My favourite one was the scenario painted by some fool on Facebook:

Someone convinces Trump that China released Covid deliberately
They did this so they could swoop in and buy up bankrupt companies
Trump nukes Beijing and Shanghai in retaliation
Russia becomes involved
World War III ensues

I asked if sitting under a table with a paper bag on my head would help, but it wasn't well received

Mimishimi · 12/08/2020 09:47

I am concerned to be honest. It's not like these things have not happened in the past - look at WW2 - they stole everything!!!
