Could this be the start of covid?

So since Saturday I've had a really nasty migraine it was first on the right of my head and now it's in the left. It pounds when I bend down or move my head. I feel really run down, and my chest has been feeling a little tight which I've felt before in the past but put it down to acids reflux as I've been a sufferer of that past, but all these symptoms coupled together is making me worry it's the start of covid. I've been noticing my heart beat, as well like I can feel it beating in my chest when normally you wouldn't unless you exert yourself.

Also 4 of my children have complained of headaches that past 3 days too, my oldest told me it hurt to move her head today.

We've been in the house for 5 months, we've not been our anywhere, I've had all shopping delivered and left in my door step and wiped stuff down. The only person who I've had contact with is my ex when he's come to take the kids to his flat, and they've stayed in his flat and not gone anywhere. My ex isn't showing any symptoms even though he's of course had to work and visit his gf so am I being too paronoid in thinking it could be the start of covid?

Book tests then

Oly4 · 03/08/2020 21:58

If you’re worried go to a drive through and do the test.
We did then the other day and it’s all straightforward.
Bette than worrying yourself sick

PlugUgly1980 · 03/08/2020 22:00

Get a test. But also consider any other reasons for headaches? Any gas appliances, carbon monoxide poisoning risk? - especially if others in the house have same symptoms.

brastrapbroken · 03/08/2020 22:00

Carbon monoxide?

GetRid · 03/08/2020 22:00

Sounds like it could be, I would 100% get a test. It's straightforward and results are quick.

Bluewavescrashing · 03/08/2020 22:01

Get well soon. Could be covid, could be another virus. Do you have a temperature or cough? Change in taste or smell?

MooneyBadger · 03/08/2020 22:01

Random question but do you have a carbon monoxide alarm in the house?

Ernieshere · 03/08/2020 22:02

I wouldn't say you are being paranoid.

Your ex has been to work and seeing his girlfriend, anyone he has been near could have given it to him.

The CDC give this list -

Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

You could go to a drive in test centre tomorrow, if you book it tonight or in the morning.

FaceOfASpink · 03/08/2020 22:03

Get plenty of ventilation through your house during the night in case it's carbon monoxide and get an alarm tomorrow.

Lockdowner13 · 03/08/2020 22:03

I came on to say carbon monoxide too. Could just be a bug but the headache thing made me wonder. Do you have a detector?

inthedarkx · 03/08/2020 22:03

I can't go to a drive through testing place as I don't drive, no way of getting there. I don't have a cough as of yet, I can still taste and smell. I've had a gas check by the housing about 3 weeks ago, and everything was all ok, would they have detected carbon monoxide ? I don't have any gas appliances. The only one was the gas fire Which was capped off years ago

brastrapbroken · 03/08/2020 22:05

Why did you have a gas check if you don't have gas?

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 03/08/2020 22:05

Order a test online - no car required.

FaceOfASpink · 03/08/2020 22:06

I booked a test online, drive to the test centre a couple of hours later and was back at home within an hour. Easy. Result (negative) was back about 36 hours later.

MoveOnTheCards · 03/08/2020 22:06

So someone was in your home at the beginning of what could be an incubation period for you? And does your ex not see anyone else?

I would order tests online. Hope you all feel better soon.

FaceOfASpink · 03/08/2020 22:06

Sorry hadn't seen your update.

inthedarkx · 03/08/2020 22:07

@brastrapbroken because I live in social housing and you still have to have a yearly gas safety check, I have a gas metre and boiler of course and that's what they check yearly I don't have a gas cooker or a gas fire. So would they have detected any chance of carbon monoxide?

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 03/08/2020 22:08

I think I'd be more worried that your children haven't been out in 5 months!

brastrapbroken · 03/08/2020 22:09

So you do have gas then. So it could be carbon mononxide. That said there should be a monitor in your house somewhere.

inthedarkx · 03/08/2020 22:09

When the guess guy came weeks ago to
Do the checks I sent my
Kids upstairs and he came round back to
The kitchen where the boiler was and he did his checks and left I stayed in another room
I had no choice to let him
In the council were threatening to break in to do it
This was weeks ago though so wouldn't have been from him

OP posts:
FaceOfASpink · 03/08/2020 22:09

I don't know whether they would test for carbon monoxide but you can get it from the boiler because I was advised to have one fitted in the room where I have my boiler and no other gas appliances.

Bupkis · 03/08/2020 22:10

Order tests online and get sent, they arrive the next day.
Good luck

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 03/08/2020 22:12

I don't think landlords need to have a monitor by law if it's a boiler, rather than an appliance in a room, but yes, you can still have a leak from a boiler!

inthedarkx · 03/08/2020 22:17

@Cakecrumbsinmybra I'm not too worried. I'm trying to protect us from getting this nasty virus, and now I'm worried we got it anyway. If we was to all get it, it will be me looking after 6 poorly kids including myself all
On my
Own so i prefer to do all
I can to prevent getting it. We have a massive garden, so they've been out in there

brastrapbroken · 03/08/2020 22:17

There will be a CM monitor.
