Could this be the start of covid?

So since Saturday I've had a really nasty migraine it was first on the right of my head and now it's in the left. It pounds when I bend down or move my head. I feel really run down, and my chest has been feeling a little tight which I've felt before in the past but put it down to acids reflux as I've been a sufferer of that past, but all these symptoms coupled together is making me worry it's the start of covid. I've been noticing my heart beat, as well like I can feel it beating in my chest when normally you wouldn't unless you exert yourself.

Also 4 of my children have complained of headaches that past 3 days too, my oldest told me it hurt to move her head today.

We've been in the house for 5 months, we've not been our anywhere, I've had all shopping delivered and left in my door step and wiped stuff down. The only person who I've had contact with is my ex when he's come to take the kids to his flat, and they've stayed in his flat and not gone anywhere. My ex isn't showing any symptoms even though he's of course had to work and visit his gf so am I being too paronoid in thinking it could be the start of covid?

I’ve just reread your OP. Please tell me that you’ve at least been in the garden in the last 5 months. If not that’s not healthy - lack of fresh air and exercise can course all sorts of problems as can stress and anxiety. If you’re not leaving the house it does sound like you have anxiety

dementedpixie · 03/08/2020 22:18

You should have a carbon monoxide detector near the boiler. If you haven't been supplied with one then you should buy one

inthedarkx · 03/08/2020 22:19

I've checked kids temps and They've all been fine, mine was 37.3 before but it's not gone above that yet. I just find the fact when've all had headaches odd. I'm going to have to investigate this carbon monoxide issue now. As that's worried me

@Idontgiveagriffindamn we have a massive garden, it's huge and we've been out in the garden. I do have anxiety yes, got worse since covid

have you not even been for a walk? Not good for everyone's mental health to all be stuck at home

ilikeitwhenshegoesbabababababa · 03/08/2020 22:21

The thing is, many people are not presenting with the three 'main' symptoms the nhs talk about. Please go and get tested

inthedarkx · 03/08/2020 22:22

@ilikeitwhenshegoesbabababababa I know and This is what worries me, I'm so worried something bad will happen

It's the tenants responsibility to get a carbon monoxide detector (in private rental anyway). OP, they only cost around £5 and last 2 years. You need to put one on top of your boiler and as you have DC complaining of headaches, check if there is some outlet near their bedrooms. I suggest you keep the windows open tonight. I assume you don't know how to turn gas off at the mains?
Carbon monoxide poisoning can be fatal and kill you in your sleep, so please take that possibility seriously.
You might be able to get one on same day delivery by Amazon or Argos.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 03/08/2020 22:25

I’m sorry but no one on here can put your mind at rest. You need to get some tests. You can order them online and they come the next day - have you done this? If not do it now - it take 10 mins.
You also should think about going out further than your garden. It’s not good for anyone’s mental health being cooped up. Go explore some woods early in the morning. A change of scenery will be good for your kids

Pomegranatemolasses · 03/08/2020 22:26

This sounds more like an anxiety disorder to me. Why on earth have you not left the house for five months (apart from your garden)? This is not fair on your dc.

DianaT1969 · 03/08/2020 22:26

If someone hasn't said, you should be able to order Covid tests online. I think this could be a wake up call for taking your DC out. It really can't be good to have 7 people cooped up in one house for 5 months and in a flat when they are not with you. Regardless of having a garden.

inthedarkx · 03/08/2020 22:27

@Idontgiveagriffindamn
I'm going to order a carbon monoxide monitor now

OP, I don’t drive and did a test a few weeks ago because the Zoe app told me to (I was 100% confident it was hayfever, which I am on two types of prescription meds for, but did it anyway). I ordered the test on Saturday night, it was delivered about 3pm on Sunday, and the guy collected it at 8am on Monday. It was, as I expected, negative.

My DP had to do the throat swab for me, but it was straightforward.the results come by text.

Lysianthus · 03/08/2020 22:31

OP call NHs on 119. They’ll advise. And get the cm alarm. Good luck.

You should have one. Check your house.

Bupkis · 03/08/2020 22:32

@inthedarkx
I think you can order 4 in one go

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 03/08/2020 22:32

Yes. Google nhs Covid testing. It will ask you which of the 3 symptoms you’ve got. You don’t have any of these but as you’re worried you should just say you’ve got one of them.
Order everyone tests at the same time. They are distributed from amazon so come next day, although you may have missed the cut off for today.
There are also walk in centres where you can make an appointment - there may be one close by you can go to.
You need to do this now.

brastrapbroken · 03/08/2020 22:34

Eh? Surely not.

ilikeitwhenshegoesbabababababa · 03/08/2020 22:36

@inthedarkx I do understand - I've suffered with health anxiety myself. But surely you can see that if something bad is going to happen, it's going to happen anyway... and it's better to know what you're facing otherwise you will just spend your hours, days, weeks, worrying and dreading something that probably isn't the case anyway. It's unlikely you have Covid, but with those symptoms it's your civic duty to get it checked out... not to mention the relief you will feel when. It comes back negative. You can order tests for administering at home online. Don't call 111 as they will likely tell you that you do not need a test as you're not showing the three main symptoms. However, for your own mental health it's important that you rule it out, so book one online.

Hope you're ok x

It did last week when I booked a test. I had a new cough so picked that. Don’t know what it would have said if I picked none

I was questioning the idea of lying, not what it asks when you try to book a test.

Ok. If it helps someone who clearly has anxiety and is struggling I’m ok with telling her to lie in order to get a test. You may not even each to their own
girlsyearapart · 03/08/2020 22:48

We went for tests as one of ds s football team mates had a positive test
When it asked if we had any symptoms I ticked no and it lets you book anyway

MrsWonderland · 03/08/2020 22:49

The tight chest sounds like anxiety - I think you may have convinced yourself (and your kids!) and it's escalated from there. Please think about going beyond the garden with your children - mental health is at least as important as physical health!
