Homeless and self-isolation

A family member who is British but usually lives abroad has had their visa cancelled and has to fly back to the UK. They don't have any money, job or anywhere to stay. Does anyone know what will happen at the airport when they arrive or how they can get housing?

Nothing will happen at the airport. They're British arriving in Britain, so nothing beyond normal entrance checks (show passport).

If they have no family or friends to stay with, they will need to book into a hotel or B&B, and start looking for somewhere to live (lodger? flatshare?) and for employment (are they in an in-demand sector?)

This is from the gov.uk website, they need to know where you're going to isolate

“If you cannot safely self-isolate for 14 days, you should tell Border Force Officers when you pass through UK border controls. They will provide you with details of a booking service which you can use to obtain accommodation and self-isolate in at your own expense. “

No job skills, never really worked. No money for a b&b

They're applying for caring and cleaning jobs, looking for ones that provide accommodation. But still no idea where to self-isolate.

Can they stay with family/friends or borrow enough for quarantine bill?

There isn't a way to avoid registering for quarantine if you are arriving from a country from which it is required
