Went to a drive through test centre today and anxiously awaiting results so that I can get on with my life/salvage the weekend.
Tell me how king yours took to come through.

Because we should all be self isolating. I feel that’s quite well publicised.

If I thought my baby had a temp from teething I wouldn't self isolate

OverTheRainbow88 · 02/08/2020 12:19

The problem is how do you know it’s a temp from teething?

JulyBreeze · 02/08/2020 12:51

"Only a temp" is a main symptom of coronavirus! Yes it can be caused by other things, that's why you get the test, to distinguish from 'normal' causes and a potentially (to others probably) deadly infection.

Think the government needs a much bigger publicity campaign on this, to be fair.

Smarshian · 02/08/2020 17:31

Still no results 😫. Missed out on our day out. Just hoping to get them back soon so we can send the kids back to nursery.

You've done the right thing OP.

Waiting to get DD (3) tested. She clearly has a cold, but has a temp (gets one with every cold!). Pain in the arse as had lots planned over the next couple of days. Cant get a test closer than 1.5 hrs away until tomorrow (I hope, still not available to book!) so we stuck home until then. Annoying, but I get the rationale!

Letseatgrandma · 02/08/2020 17:40

5 days for a postal test.

snowone · 02/08/2020 17:42

Had mine 11.30am Friday and came back 15.30 Saturday. We are east lancs. hopefully you will get it back soon 😣

valentinoandme · 02/08/2020 19:43

I had a test at a drive in place yesterday at 5pm and still haven't heard anything Confused

Cattenberg · 02/08/2020 19:55

Sorry about your day out, @Smarshian.

DD got tested yesterday at 3pm and we’re still waiting for the results. I had trouble getting a decent sample from a toddler, so I think the result might well be invalid.

When I got tested myself a couple of weeks’ ago, the results took about 29 hours to come through.

Smarshian · 02/08/2020 19:59

Had the result through now for my son (negative). Waiting for the others, but as he was the only one with symptoms I think we will be ok.

Smarshian · 02/08/2020 20:37

Just got the others through (all negative!) so at least the kids can go back to nursery tomorrow

itispersonal · 02/08/2020 20:39

How long was that op?

We had our done at 9 o clock this morning, hoping to hear back early tomorrow morning! Fingers crossed! We are hoping to go away if they come back negative should have gone today!

WithIcePlease · 02/08/2020 20:49

15 hours and 24 hours here
Glad yours back

OneEpisode · 02/08/2020 21:16

Thank you for keeping us all safe!

whiteroseredrose · 02/08/2020 21:20

12 hours. Iceland

Smarshian · 02/08/2020 21:55

It was about 30 hours by the time they came through. Glad it’s done and we can get back to ‘normal’ tomorrow

Paddy1234 · 02/08/2020 22:06

I got tested at 8am yesterday and received results back by 5pm - drive through.
That is my record as I have to be done weekly

Paddy1234 · 02/08/2020 22:07

North London btw

Cattenberg · 03/08/2020 08:54

In case this is useful to anyone else - we got our results email at 2am today and the text at 6am. Negative! Yay!

I’m surprised to have got the results during the night and at the four hour time difference.

Michaelbaubles · 03/08/2020 08:56

For the record - posted one off last week and got an email the next day at 10.30 at night! Was quite impressed with that.

Seashell80 · 03/08/2020 10:51

Oh this is a useful well timed thread, going for my test at 12.30, have hay fever/cold symptoms that have today made me a bit wheezy and out of puff(not unusual for me) but I work with the general public(opticians) so am erring on the side of caution! Fortunately don't have to be in work until Thursday so plenty of time but work will need to know ASAP !

valentinoandme · 03/08/2020 11:24

Got mine back this morning (negative) so took 39hrs

Karenovirus · 03/08/2020 14:26
