Should I change DC nursery?

DD's nursery were open through lockdown at other locations but not her actual building due to it being to small to social distance 🧐🙄 (they have 4 locations) seeing pics of the other nursery were they sent our teachers the children were not SD anyway..

But if the cases rise again by September when the are suppose to re-open I am guessing once again they will stay closed as the space is to small?

I am thinking of finding another nursery even though DC adores hers and her key worker! What do you all think?

Have you actually asked the nursery what their plans are? My thoughts are that if choosing a nursery I would look for one with relatively small numbers of people, as that obviously reduces the chances of someone at nursery having Covid.

I don't see how you can socially distance with a nursery anyway

Mangomumma · 01/08/2020 16:06

I thought the guidelines for that age group was bubbles because they can't social distance? That's what our nursery is doing. I'd ask what their plans are but start looking at other nurseries in case you need one.

At that age I'm pretty sure they're doing group bubbles.

Remmy123 · 01/08/2020 17:07

Children arnt expected to social distance - they stay in bubbles

If a nursery expected my 2 year old to SD I'd move her

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 01/08/2020 17:20

They aren't supposed to be successfully socially distancing. You seem annoyed that they have been following be the guidance, what would you like them to do? It's very unlikely that they aren't doing their best to open if it would be safe to do so.

I work in a nursery that has been open throughout the pandemic and it’s impossible for the children to social distance
It’s also impossible for the staff to do it either
We are spending most of the time outdoors, we do extra cleaning and we have smaller groups. We’ve also got rid of a lot of resources, so it’s easier to clean. Drop offs and pick ups are done outside and nobody is allowed in the nursery apart from staff and children
But there is no expectation that the children will practice social distancing

No social distancing in nurseries and dont have to have small group bubbles anymore either as guidance has changed.
Just age groups kept separate.
