Soft plays opening in Wales

I am quite shocked really. Given Wales has been pretty careful overall, soft plays are now opening. I feel like they have got to be the germiest places?! Most of them have no fresh air coming in either.
I do feel for soft plays, I am sure many won't survive but it just seems bizarre?! Maybe I'm alone!

Maybe (and I am just wondering out loud really, I have zero evidence for this) they've seen no cases linked to nurseries being open and have figured that kids mixing in a nursery and kids mixing in soft play aren't that different?
My DD is at nursery full time with obviously no attempt at SD - I doubt soft play is any worse.
However, it does seem an odd decision just based on the fact that it's not needed for childcare like nurseries are, and will obviously increase mixing unnecessarily, and every increase in mixing will have an impact on overall rates.

Yes you could well be right! I am sure they have their reasoning. I was just shocked that's all!

But being realistic, how long do you expect them to stay closed for?

I would have full confidence in going back to my local one. It’s was always really clean and well run.

There are 0.3 cases per 100,000 in my local authority area. I’d feel confident going to a soft play.

@Nicknacky I don't really expect them to stay shut. Soft plays are germy, it is a fact. But i use them occasionally, ive nothing against them and kids love them!
This isn't me saying they shouldn't open.
I was just shocked that Wales are allowing them to open after treading so carefully in the beginning.

I wouldn't let my children use soft play at the moment. I guess if there are people happy to use it though then it helps the businesses stay solvent and contributes to the herd immunity protection for those that remain more cautious.

From Monday children under the age of 11 will no longer have to maintain a 2m distance from each other or from adults in Wales.
