Sudden vomiting

Hi all, I woke up last night suddenly feeling really nauseous and I was sick a couple of times. My stomach is now aching all around, and my sides and back too. I don’t have any other symptoms but I’m worried about how suddenly this has come on. I didn’t eat much yesterday so don’t think it could be food poisoning. I did have a small glass of wine late in the evening. Of course I’m now worried about Covid, do you think it could be that? I was planning on going out today 🙁

These things happen. I was bathing my little girl 2 nights ago and suddenly had to be sick. The usual sickness bugs are still around

Thanks, yes I suppose they are. I think for most of us now the minute we feel ill we think Covid.

I definitely wouldn’t go out, with me being sick usually turns to diarrhoea and it’s usually a 24 hour bug. Drink plenty of water and maybe dry toast.

tenlittlecygnets · 31/07/2020 17:56

More likely to be a sick bug. Avoid people and going out for 48 hours. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm an essential worker and have found it easy to get a test. Not sure how easy it is for others. Could you get one to put your mind at ease?

I had what I think was Covid mid-March; pretty much had the range of symptoms, including projectile vomiting and diarrhoea on the second day (first day sore throat/headache.

Might not have been related though; the joys of perimenopause make everything a lottery!

ineedaholidaynow · 31/07/2020 18:04

Surely you wouldn’t be going out if you have been sick anyway. Can you order a test as sickness is one of the symptoms although not one of the main symptoms?

StatisticalSense · 31/07/2020 18:21

Vomiting alone is unlikely to be Covid but going out today clearly isn't a good idea as even in normal times it is recommended to stay home for 48 hours after unexplained vomiting.

If one good thing comes out of this crappy Covid situation (and it will be the only good thing), it will be that people keep their pesky D&V bugs at home for a few days "in case it's Covid".
