How long to get test result?

Sorry I’m sure this must have been asked so many times but I only seem to be able to find threads from quite a while ago. Took DD to a drive through test place this morning, they said it would take from 48 hours to 5 days for results to be emailed to me. Have people found it’s been nearer 48 hrs or nearer 5 days? Thanks!

Mine took 12 hours

Had the test 5pm Sunday, email came through at 5am the next morning. I was very impressed at the efficiency of it all.

Most people I know who have had a test have had their result back within 24 hours.

10 hours here, just got them there. I was tested at half 10 this morning.

Had my test at noon and results were text to me at 8am the next morning.

Tested at noon and results came through at 6 am next morning.

Had three tests now - between 24 and 48 hours each time.

Same as others. Test at 1pm result came through next morning.

Been tested twice. First time was a couple of months ago and took 22 hours, second one a couple of weeks ago took 16 hours.

I had one last week and it took exactly 24 hours. Hope it’s negative.

had mine at 2pm received results 8am the next morning

Had mine at 9, received the results at 5

First test 48 hours
Second test 24 hours
Third test 26 hours
Fourth test 48 hours
Fifth test 26 hours

Whole household 6.30pm last night. DH and I got our results at 10.30am this morning. Still waiting on LO's results. Doing my head in!!!!!

All that have had the tests, what was it like? I've to have one Friday and it looks bloody awful. I gag brushing my teeth, I'm worried i will puke on the nurse!

My DS was tested at 11.00 am and had his result at 10.30 pm the same day.

Postal test. I posted it at 5pm and the next day I got the results around midnight, so 32 hours from posting (which I find very impressive)

Were most of these Drive In or were any apart from Rhayader postal?

@Tryingthisonefornow not that bad but I'd mention to the nurse that you have a sensitive gag reflex. Ours were self administered which I found better as I had control. The nose swab made me sneeze.

Had a meet up with some friends yesterday, we’re all medics. We were discussing the tests , consensus seemed to be that the results for most people who do the test themselves, will often be inaccurate. The swabs have to be shoved so far up the nose, that most people simply won’t be able to achieve this as it’s so horrible.

@Runmybathforme I did wonder this. I would rather have had someone do it for me so I would be sure it was done right.
