I can see why there is a want for it, but does anyone think it would actually happen?

Personally I would love it to happen, but I don’t see how it could could enforced between Scotland and England.

It would be easier to do a stricter lockdown on the specific English towns that have a lot of cases, but I don't think that'll happen either unless cases rise from significant community transmission. As long as outbreaks are kept under control the cases will keep dropping. The deaths are largely historic reassigned hospital deaths if you look at the stats, so while they look alarming they didn't actually die yesterday. This is the chart by date of death, it's very much lower even if you account that some will be added:

No it can't happen, we have fully open borders and many people hop over the border each day for work etc. Plus it isn't just one road in and one road out.

Sorry you are stuck with us germ infested England dwellers.

cologne4711 · 29/07/2020 16:47

Where I live there have been 4 cases in the last 4 weeks.

It's not "England", it's a few areas of concern. Which are subject to stricter rules.

But I did cancel my holiday in Scotland so that's one less (not) germ-infested English person you have to worry about.

I’m on holiday and have crossed a border 3 times in a single journey. Pretty easy to do in some areas.

I'm trying to convince my English friends and family to visit - so I'm glad nobody thinks it's likely!

MRex - thanks for that link 👍

How is that going to work when there are literally hundreds of roads between Wales and England?

raviolidreaming · 29/07/2020 18:56

Orchidsindoors Well, exactly. I don't think it would, or should.

I can just imagine the NI Unionist response as well or travel with the mainland were cut off...
