Excessive thirst

Has anyone who’s had the virus been constantly thirsty? It feels like I have a dry mouth all of the time and need a drink. I’m so worried! I’ve also coughed a few times tonight but my temperature is around 36.5 and I can still taste and smell.

Have a test. Nothing to lose. There seem to be so many varying symptoms from this strange virus.

Otherwise - Are you eating particularly salty food at the moment?

If the thirst continues you might need a blood sugar test.

Yeah you’re right, I should have a test! I just hate the thought of the home test - from friend’s experiences it sounds horrific!

No salty foods in particular - I did think diabetes but I’m 25, very active and eat relatively healthy!

Still very thirsty this morning Sad

I would get a covid test for the cough and assuming negative give the doctor a ring. Type 1 diabetes can show in 20s and is not related to diet or exercise.

Being 25, active and eating healthily does not preclude you from having diabetes.

It's been hot - are you drinking enough? How is your wee? It's it light yellow or dark yellow?

T1 diabetes can develop at any age. I was diagnosed at 37. Not all T2 diabetics are 40+ and fat.

It is worth consulting your GP.
