And I felt really old. DH developed a summer cough but being careful we decided to get tested. He is retail and I am education so have been in contact with lots of people.
Centre was literally deserted. Went online at 12.55 and could pick any slot. Had it done by 1.45. Centre was staffed by lots of very young adults. Only person over 40 was on the entrance. All advice given via phone there or through the window. Noone available to administer the test so had to self administer.
I don't think I did it fully properly despite trying and gagging. DH thinks he managed it OK.
The youngsters were so helpful and cheerful. They must be bored to death though. We were there about 20 minutes and noone came in during our stay. I was surprised to see about 50 completed tests in the collection box so don't know how often they are collected.
It was an ok experience apart from the gagging. The most difficult thing was breaking off the swab stick to get it to fit in the tube. That took ages and DH had to do mine in the end.
So now we wait. I think I had covid on February and am sure DH has only summer sniffles.
Does anyone know how long the wait is?
