Reading the .gov advice has thoroughly confused an already confused woman!

Does anyone have a link to what shielded people should be doing after 1/8 please if such a thing exists or is it as simple as it seems?

I am in Scotland where shielding ended on the 24th and they sent out a letter with a very helpful infographic saying which activities were allowed and which were still considered high risk.
You can do most things everyone else can do, see 8 people from a max of 3 households, see others if socially distanced and outdoors or wearing a mask inside. You are advised to wash hands, wear face coverings, and get medical advice right away if you have symptoms or someone you've been in contact with has.

I hope we get something in England Coffee or I may be asking you to forward it Grin I thought I was pretty up on it but everything I thought was wrong.

Here is a link to the Scottish gov advice, the infographic is the middle link in the 3 links halfway down the page. It's very similar to advice in the rest of the UK, and very clear.

I think it's going to be what non-shielding people were doing before restrictions were eased. So practicing strict social distancing, not going anywhere crowded, only going to shops if essential, no using public transport unless essential etc.

They've said all along there may be further advice just before the de-shielding date. So something may be along shortly

At the moment there are rules in the number of people you can have contact with. Unlimited outdoors exercise and leisure at proper social distance. From 1/8 you can add

  • adults: WOH in Covid safe environments (though WFH still preferred)
  • children: can attend school
  • go to shoops for food and other essentials
  • attend places of worship

but we'll have to wait for the next round of guidance to know if there is more

I thought Shielding didn't end on 24th in Scotland and that it ends at the end of the month like England - there was a relaxation on 24th but food boxes, etc finishes at the end of the week. The letter my mum got just details things that are lower risk and those that are higher risk and lets you make choices about what you do.

Don't know if you can read this
