Quarantine

Are key workers exempt from quarantine on return from Spain? I thought not but someone has said a letter from employer stating your needed is fine?!

On the givt guidance there is a list of people excluded from quarantine- they are key workers, but only very specific categories.

Best to check with employers. I think they ay least have to be tested. Otherwise what is the point of quarantine at all? I mean if key workers who work in public facing roles, such as medical or supermarket staff, can just go to work as normal while potentially carrying the virus then the spread will be inevitable, so why making anyone quarantine?

I'm pretty sure that they are only exempt if the reason for the travel was related to their job, and not just going on holiday. Not 100% on that but I am currently quarantined after a holiday so I feel like I've read the rules a lot!

My employer (NHS) has said you are only exempt if you are coming to this country to start work having been recruited abroad.
