So a scientist at THE WHO said that we will live with social distancing etc for at least a year until vaccine /treatment now that awful Tedros says life will not go back to old normal .. so are we supposed to not hug our family /friends /meet new partners for ever ? I can't live with this new fking normal I would not be here if this goes on

Can someone rationalise this for me

I just don't think most people will, regardless of what is said.
Maybe in places where it is forced eg cinemas enforcing empty seats, restaurants separating tables etc but I don't think people will not hug family, or not start dating someone new. I just don't see people doing it in their own homes for that long - I think a lot of people have already let go of it with family.

It's not happening in Sweden, is it? Most British ppl want this level of control, though. Sorry OP. I would have gone for Swedish model, too.

He can’t actually enforce anything. He just talks. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Yep lockdown is going to cause 4 x the amount of deaths !!! Depression from bankruptcy etc and lack of treatment for cancer etc
