Filters for children's masks

Hi, i have some PM2.5 filters but they are too big to for my child's mask, i can't source any the right size, i'm assuming i can just cut these ones down a bit ?

What do you use ? I've heard kitchen towel but not sure that's as effective.

Kitchen roll supposed to be suitable. Maybe fold it a few times

and I wouldnt cut the filter as there is a carbon layer so it might make a mess
