Anyone else pregnant and struggling with facemasks?

Currently in my 2nd tri and still dealing with horrendous sickness.

I've been trying to wear facemasks in shops and on transport the past couple of weeks but I'm really struggling. I hate being one of 'those people' but it increases my sickness so much and I've had to leave a shop/bus gagging a few times so I could take it off.

Does anyone else have this problem? Are there any better masks you recommend for getting 'fresh' air whilst wearing, as I think this is the problem and what is causing me to need to be sick when wearing)?

Could you try a visor instead?

I did consider a shield but most of what I read online was sceptical that they actually made much difference or were a suitable substitute for a mask.

I can look into it a bit more though.

Oh god yes.

I don’t go out anywhere, only to the hospital but I’m in every few days at the mo at 34 weeks.

It’s so hot and stuffy in there and the mask just makes me feel sick and like I’m about to faint. I’m there for 3 or 4 hours at a time mostly waiting so it’s crap. I’ve had to run to the loo a few times to be sick.

Got to be done though so I just have to suck it up.

Thank goodness it isn't just me then! I thought I may just be being dramatic but it really does make me even sicker than I already am having something covering my nose and mouth 🤢

I feel you. I work in a hospital and wearing them from 8- 16 weeks was a nightmare. Definitely increased the frequency of puking and overheating, which lead to more vomiting. I found sweets like haribo helped and I'm much more used to wearing them now, but I am spending 12 hours a day in them. Really hope it gets easier for you soon x
