Tips on Testing a Toddler for C19

Has anyone tested a baby or toddler for Covid that has any tips.

My 18 month old has just been sent home from nursery with a fever so we need to get her tested but parents have to test children themselves.

I've just watched the video and it says how important it is that the fabric swab tip touches nothing but the back of the throat and nose! My daughter won't even let us clean her teeth without fighting and screaming. I've seen some people saying it's just the nose for tots but not seen that anywhere official!

I have literally no idea how we are going to swab the back of her throat 5 times without her grabbing it, chewing it, and generally preventing us doing it!!!

Any tips gratefully received

Just in case anyone comes across this! It is done and was fine. Although the instructions say to try swabbing the throat they also say that it is ok to just do the nose. She wasn't thrilled but it was all done before she had time to get too upset.

Glad it went well OP and hope that you get a nice negative result soon.

Well done OP 👏
No idea how I'll do it if I have to take a test.
