I hear the R number is up in Brittany. A family member is booked to travel soon. Wondering now whether to go ahead or not?

Significance of R number depends on overall infection rates. If infection rate is already quite high, the R number going above one is cause for concern. If overall infection rate is very low, a very small outbreak may result in a significant increase in the R number. Haven't followed the situation in Britanny so don't know which applies. It's not sensible to make a decision based on R number alone.

I read a news article online and a member of the French government said that they are no where near a second wave.

He said the outbreaks have been in abattoirs, weddings (think they can have 100 guests?) and family starting to meet up again.

I would still go to Brittany and am going to South of France myself this week.

Good to know, thanks.
