Where is the website with the *new* postcode checker?

Two days ago it was announced that a brand new postcode checker had been published, allowing you to see how many cases there had been in your area.

I can't find a link to this anywhere. I can find plugins on BBC, The Sun, etc, where you enter your postcode, but I don't want that. I am looking for the original website (PHE? Gov?) where this postcode checker is hosted. I can find the old one from May but not the July one.

Has anyone managed to find it?!

Hmmm it says it's an ONS one but I am struggling to locate it too. I've found this list of all ONS Covid related things:

www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/datalist

But I have searched everything released after the end of June and can't find it.

sorryiasked · 20/07/2020 18:58

This one?

sorryiasked · 20/07/2020 19:03

Sorry I see you've tried that one. You can look up local areas here

sorryiasked · 20/07/2020 19:06

This one zooms right in on postcode but only for deaths up to 6th June

HumanAndDancer · 20/07/2020 19:10

Found it! thanks for your help in looking 😊

I would love to see this data historically, i.e. positive tests each week. Bet they haven’t got it, though.

Barbie222 · 20/07/2020 19:36

The maps I've seen are at least a wrk out of date

Bramblyberries · 20/07/2020 23:51

That's kind of reassuring, when you see all the blank areas.

But I wonder if it does have all the data (even if it's a week out of date). Because if there are still a new 500-600 cases a day, then over a week that's several thousand, and it doesn't look like the number of cases listed there would add up to several thousand. And yet it's supposed to be the data for a whole week?

ChessIsASport · 20/07/2020 23:54

I think it is this one.
phe.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=47574f7a6e454dc6a42c5f6912ed7076

ChessIsASport · 20/07/2020 23:58

Sorry missed your post. My link is the PHE one.

sorryiasked · 21/07/2020 06:22

But the white areas on tbe phe map relate to "data suppressed" which presumably means no info not no cases?
The other ones linked do sty leeway give you some data even if there is a lag on it.

Ibake · 21/07/2020 06:25

The shading only starts at 3-9 cases. Someone on another thread told me that they don't show areas with 1 or 2 cases because they might be identifiable. Makes sense.

MereDintofPandiculation · 21/07/2020 09:16

But the white areas on tbe phe map relate to "data suppressed" which presumably means no info not no cases? The have info but they're suppressing it - usually because there's too few cases and the people may be identifiable - routine when publishing any sort of statistical information about people. Hard to see what the problem of being identifiable would be here - you know one person in your area has Covid, but how would you recognise it was this person unless you already knew they had Covid, in which case you already know everything about them - or are they giving other info like age, underlying health conditions?

Bramblyberries · 21/07/2020 09:35

oh maybe that explains it, 1-2 cases in many of the blank areas - but would that still add up to several thousand a week? Are there several thousand local authorities? hmm

YoshimisMum · 21/07/2020 11:20

@ChessIsASport
I've been looking at the data on this for a while. It's currently reporting on week 28. Do you know if this is the 6th - 12th July and when will week 29 be published. Hope you can help - thank you

ChessIsASport · 21/07/2020 11:28

@YoshimisMum the week it refers to is just the week of the year. So week 28 is from 6th July.
I imagine that it will update again in the middle of this week.

YoshimisMum · 21/07/2020 11:45

@ChessIsASport
Thank you

Juststopswimming · 21/07/2020 11:50

so interesting - is this pillar one only???

YoshimisMum · 21/07/2020 11:58

@Juststopswimming
Pillar 1 & 2 I believe - someone else might be able to confirm
If it's pillar 1 only we are in deep s**t!

Juststopswimming · 21/07/2020 12:00

i hope you're right! just that i've been keeping an eye on the data from 'in your area' which refreshes every day when the daily stats are released and according to that I'm certain my area has had more than 3 cases in the last week....

Juststopswimming · 21/07/2020 12:03

actually - ignore me - the map shows numbers by postcode (i.e. for your town); the data on 'in your area' shows for your council. That'll be why!

Reastie · 21/07/2020 12:06

When was week 28? I’m wondering how recent the data is
