School reopening plan

I had a look but not seen one of these for secondary - do link me if I’ve missed one. We got the plan for my year 8 and I though it was quite sensible - would be interested to see how others compare.

Slightly staggered start and end times and each year group has a section of the school they are ‘confined’ to - eg year 8 now owns the Science block and has all lessons/tutor groups there for the next year.

They will be having 3 long lessons a day to minimise movement around the block and changing of groups and where possible the staff will move rather than the students.

Hand sanitiser anytime they enter a classroom. Masks optional in school but mandatory on school buses or public transport (obviously).

No extracurricular clubs, access to library or canteen, no year groups mixing - school field has been partitioned off to keep them apart. All homework online so no paperwork or books back and forth.

They will have a supply of tests to hand out to anyone who develops symptoms at school so you and your family can self-test at home too.

I’m a teacher and that sounds like what my school is offering - Year groups in ‘zones’ and we move to our teaching groups, sanitiser in classrooms, minimal resources. The only difference is the masks, dfe guidelines state they are not needed in schools so we have been told we can’t wear them.
