Will there be another local lockdown?

Or was Leicester the one and only?

Nothing has been mentioned about any other lockdown (I’m pleased about this btw, I don’t want one!)
I’m not far from Bradford and I believe they have a high infection rate, but I haven’t heard about any lock lockdown.

Why wouldn’t you want to contain the disease

SpongeCake23 · 18/07/2020 14:35

@GreenTulips I didn’t say that. I’m just saying I don’t want one, I’m sure others don’t either, but if it has to be, then it has to be.

Well the government have said that local authorities will have the powers to decide this, so yes, if it's deemed necessary in any area there will be.

If infection rates rise then I can see local lockdowns happening.

I think that any further lockdowns might be more localised. For example closing down a school or an office block or a couple of factories, rather than whole towns and cities. If they keep on top of test and trace they should be able to stop it before it gets to the extreme of locking down a big area again.
