OK I know throughout there's been. Xx up my road hadn't complied, or I saw groups of teens etc. And I'm sure this is everywhere I know I saw a fair bit.

For the last week literally bar queing to get in 1 shop and bits of tape on floors .. Everything has seemed normal.

I've had to go into the city due to kids outgrowing clothes and one of the dc needing a whole new wardrobe as their going away in August with DF. And to get a few odd bits. But I waited until I had to get enough to warrant it.
Once in the shops.. Everything was normal. Maybe saw 30 people in total wearing a mask thought the day.

I did main shop in aldi. They were the only shop monitoring numbers but once in people didn't care.
I had to do tesco for the items un available and baby formula.. No one in the door at all people everywhere and no sanitiser available at door.. I carry my own anyway.

Today I did costco for nappies and meat. Again no que to get in.. Once inside the que with no exaggeration was the length of the shop to pay..

I've driven past parks where parents aren't distancing I know it's hard for kids.
3 people I know have had big garden bbqs.
Hoards of teens gathering at local areas.

I'm not grumpy about it at all because I have no control over others. But the day I got in from town I actually googled if restrictions had been completely eased and I'd missed something because It felt normal.

Oh and 2 workmen doing quotes tried coming in, no ppe or even wanted to sanitise hands!

Sadly I agree

No, very clear that places not very busy and
E.g. buses pretty empty.

Tourists not back.

In my suburb pedestrian and traffic flows are quite normal. In early lockdown the traffic was dead and the pavements heaving.
Leisure centre opens next week.
Park is much busier with sports which feels positive. Playground open.
Local shops are doing distancing but not busy enough to need queues so that's not intrusive.

Further affield, I'm deliberately shopping at quieter times to avoid queues so that feels more normal without compromising safety.

Town felt flat last week. I didn't go in the shopping centre. Waterstones was lovely.
The street drinkers and anti-social loiterers seem to have moved elsewhere and it was nice not to have their foul mouthed tirades in the background.

I am in a tourist town in the east of Scotland. Although the town is very busy now with holiday makers the shops and cafes etc still have stringent measures in place and we need wear masks in all shops. So it sort of feels normal if you are at the beach, parks or wandering around town but not normal when you want to go inside anywhere.

yeOldeTrout · 18/07/2020 22:31

Nothing I did today around non-HH members felt like the old normal. Not a single moment.... wait, one thing is same as old normal. The road traffic is back. As bad as ever.

Millicent10 · 18/07/2020 22:38

I would estimate that mask wearing is about 5%, it is going to be so different next weekend when face coverings become nearer 100%.

HeresMe · 18/07/2020 22:41

Person going in shops acting normal wonders why others are doing same, you can't make it up.

Cycling over to see a friend this evening, and not only are there a fair few groups, I even spotted a couple snogging at the back of the pub car park. I have to assume they don't live together as most adults aren't that passionate in full daylight in town at 8.30pm...

HeresMe · 18/07/2020 22:57

Wow couple snogging who someone assumes don't live together Jesus people will be shaking hands next.

Judgey people this is getting so.messed up see help.

ChavvySexPond · 18/07/2020 23:08

It's still very lockdown esque here. People are very conscientious and mindful of others.

Although there is gossip that one of the local boys has got his girlfriend pregnant during lockdown. Christmas baby the rumour is. Eek.

JaceLancs · 19/07/2020 00:11

Quite near to normal here today
I expect that will change next week with masks being mandatory
I will only go out if I have to

TeddyIsaHe · 19/07/2020 00:18

Not back to normal in my city, still queuing for shops, masks being worn by most, traffic nowhere near pre-lockdown amounts.

We’ve had 1 covid death in a month and there’s 1.4 cases of covid per 100,000. Glad I live with sensible citizens!

feelingverylazytoday · 19/07/2020 09:12

Most of the shops and cafes have reopened, the 2 pubs seem to be about half as busy as they used to be. People still social distance here, though it's not enforced. People seem to have got used to it and do it naturally now. Probably about a quarter of people wear masks in shops.
