Feeling sad about playgroups

I know they said soft play will need to stay shut for now, but there’s been absolutely no mention of playgroups/baby groups.
I’m really finding it hard with my toddler all day.

The baby group I used to go to is starting up again next week albeit with limited capacity. I've seen others are doing outside groups. Fingers crossed something near you opens up soon!

One of the groups local to us is reopening but you have to pre book so they can limit numbers and also for test and trace. None of the others are opening afaik. I think they will allow them to open once schools and nurseries open in September

I feel the same OP. Playgrounds opening have been a big help but playgroups would make it much easier to keep my toddlers entertained! Hopefully things start opening soon.

I know how you feel. There will be lots of other mums in the same boat. Maybe try an organised class for babies or see if you can invite another mum with a toddler round to play.

Me too. And I’m finding some other mums with small children don’t want to meet up because they can’t trust their children to socially distance. I don’t know of any baby groups running in real life yet and thought only groups of up to six people from different households are allowed to meet outdoors - do babies count in those six, so that only three mums and babies can meet at once?

I think it must be close. Eg I’m expecting my eldest to be able to restart gymnastics and ballet in September. My 1 yo is on a waiting list for the baby gymnastics (which to be honest is really like softplay). Baby swimming looks like it’ll be able to start. I guess classes may be easier to limit numbers and possibly not as much to clean but logically if a gymnastics class can start, I don’t see why a playgroup couldn’t.
