Any HCPs advice on testing a 4 year old?

Hello,

My four year old has developed a sore throat and fever today after being in playgroup this week. Hoping it's not CV, but treating it as if it is until we know (isolating, have informed the one household who have been here etc).

Can anyone who has experience with these things give me some pointers on how to test her? I hear it's quite unpleasant, plus she has autism so can be quite funny about sensations anyway.

Thank you!

I did one on my 4 year old the other day. He was bribed with a new sonic game for his nintendo switch and did the test no bother haha. He sat on his dads knee and I did the test. He did gag a bit

When we tested our 4 year old they told us we could do both nostrils rather than nose and throat so we did that. We bribed him with a chocolate digestive, he didn't love it but didn't but up too much resistance!

We got our result (negative) 11 hours after we visited the test centre.
