We are getting tested weekly, wondering how it will work.

I work in a care home and we are all having weekly testing and the residents are. I think it's great and I hope all the staff start to feel safer as we have already had an outbreak in April. I do wonder how it will work if someone tests positive as so many people work closely together. We wouldnt be able to isolate as we would have nobody to look after our residents. Any care workers wondering the same?

How unpleasant do you find the test? I was invited to be part of national every 8 week sampling but declined, I didn't fancy getting that swab up nose on a regular basis just on a voluntary basis.

How can residents with dementia consent?

It was ok, had to be supervised doing it. Cant say I like the thought of it every week but I will be safer for us all. I'm not sure what is happening with consent etc..I believe if they refuse then they cant test but some have such advanced dementia, I'm not sure if it's done in best interest.
