Has anyone found a comfortable face mask?

We are going on holiday later in the year and my DP is dreading wearing a mask for the flight as he finds them really uncomfortable especially over his nose. Has anyone found a comfortable one yet? are the ones with filters any better?
Thanks for any help.

My husband has this one:
www.etsy.com/uk/listing/818001309/face-mask-washable-uk-4-layers-washable?ref=shop_home_active_1&frs=1&crt=1

Very nice, very good quality. Comfy as can be.

Oddballs do some neoprene ones and they're sized so you can get a better fit. www.myoddballs.com/products/copy-of-4-x-face-coverings-bold-bundle these are mine

Fabric ones are better but I’ve not found one that doesn’t steam up my glasses.

Frownette · 13/07/2020 20:48

Ahh, so you can wash them with disinfectant wash or just high temp?

Unescorted · 13/07/2020 20:48

Serenity rub a piece of dry soap across both sides of the lenses - rub off. That keeps my glasses fog free inside ski goggles even when I am sweaty.

SerenityNowwwww · 13/07/2020 20:50

Fab - I’m going to try that!

MintChocAddict · 13/07/2020 20:58

serenity Get one with a nose wire. If you bend it round to fit the shape of your nose your glasses don't steam up.
It's been a revelation although I suspect it's a little warmer underneath the mask than it would be without a wire!

MaidenMotherCrone · 13/07/2020 21:00

I've made many custom fit ones for my family. I find the pleated ones the most comfortable.

Frog spit. Honestly! Google it. I found it years ago for snorkelling, and I'm never now without it. A little goes a long way and it works.

My boss brought in a batch of homemade ones that her MIL made for us, they're really soft material and mine is the only one I've worn that doesn't cause my glasses to fog up. They're ace! She got the patterns online I think

These are really soft, cotton jersey

GroupSects · 16/08/2020 13:00

I have a silk one from Gingerlily which is the best I’ve tried so far and I’ve tried a few. It was expensive but I thought if I have to wear one then I’d rather spend more and it be nice quality.
It sits away from your face and is more breathable than others.

fruitpastille · 16/08/2020 13:03

I've got a stretchy one from superdrug that is the most comfortable of all mine. It's quite thin though so not convinced how effective it is though. Only £1.50 and a funky leopard print.

Cheeeese2020 · 16/08/2020 13:42

Google 3D masks - really simple to make, really comfy and don't steam up glasses.

Flaxmeadow · 16/08/2020 14:31

Most public transport, airports and airlines say face "covering". So you could maybe use a thin cotton or silky scarf instead of a mask?

HeIenaDove · 16/08/2020 20:25

Opticians everywhere are loving the washing up liquid dry soap tips for glasses wearers that are appearing all over the internet! £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

EveLe · 16/08/2020 21:19

I've got one of these:

www.breathe-happy.com/everyday/

It looks a bit darth vaderish, but I find it much easier to breath in it (I"m asthmatic and struggled with normal masks) because there's a gap between your mouth and the filter.

Its silicone so kind of sucks onto your face, which means no steamed up glasses either!

Sparkledot · 17/08/2020 12:34

Home bargains are selling some that are 3 for £5 in store or £1.99 each online they are double (possibly triple) layer cotton with adjustable ear straps, they are so comfortable and come in lots of plain colours as well as a couple of patterns. Ive tried lots of masks and these are by far the most comfortable. I went back and bought a load more. www.homebargains.co.uk/products/18779-plain-black-reusable-face-covering.aspx

CKBJ · 17/08/2020 21:59

I bought mine from Seasalt very comfortable to wear. Before that was using medical disposable ones from boots

Excited101 · 18/08/2020 12:29

The fabric ones from GAP are brilliant
