Hi, is it bad to take my kids to the supermarket with me. I know they’re allowed in but it’s not necessary for them to come, it’s just because I need to go, their dad is busy working at home and they want to come.
Thoughts please

Everyone in my local Asda at the weekend brought the entire family for a wee afternoon out by the looks of things. So you should be fine OP.

I try to avoid going to the Supermarket with my kids full stop. But I have taken then when there's been no other choice and been fine.

I wouldn't just because they want to. Can't they stay at home with their dad? It should really just be one person per household if you can.

I haven't yet taken mine but I have seen lots of kids for a gd 2 months or so now. I have actually seen full families too!

Yes just take them, as long as they won't run amok it's fine.

I’ve always taken all of my 4 children, I’m a single parent, no one has batted an eyelid.

I had to take my 9 year old DD into Aldi last week. It was late, about 8pm, so it wasn't busy, no queue to get in etc. No one told me off or made a comment. She was very good and followed social distancing better than some of the adults in there!

From mid March - June my 10 year old had been inside or to grandparents for childcare. I started to take him to the shops from mid June, I took him for his mental health as he was suffering. He was shocked to see all the plastic screens everywhere and suddenly realised how much has changed while he has been inside. We have been out more since as i was so upset at how shocked he was to see the changes. Now he just sees it as normal.

I would take your children.

We took my 3 year old grandson shopping , he came into the shops wearing his mask, sanitised his hand and walked around nicely. No one made any comment apart from aah cute

Just go at a quiet time. We went to the supermarket this afternoon at about 3pm with 3 year old. No queue, straight in, not many people around, nobody seemed to bat an eyelid at the fact I was there with a child.
