Invisalign and lockdown

Hi,

What's been your experience with appointments if you were already in the process of invisalign? Have you managed to see your dentists?

Has anyone's dentist/ortho booked them to START invisalign during thw lockdown/corona period?

Should I wait to start invisalign or go with an online provider? Cost doesn't matter i'm more fed up of waiting BUT at the last check up I have begining of decay which was meant to be investigated and haven't been to the hygienist in 8 months now due to no appointments (my dentist is only seeing emergency).

My DD has had her first appointment Invisalign since lockdown. So she's about 8 weeks behind (as are everyone else) but her appointments now seem to be back on track. She had her teeth filed which she needed for her treatment so quite invasive in terms of the virus. FYI x

Yikes Lotty! I suppose you don't get money back for missed appointments? Has going 8 weeks without a check set her progress back or not? Did the dentist do online or telephone check ups?

No money back as it is a fixed fee but we did have a phone conversation at the start of lock down and to be honest wasn't something anyone could have envisaged! My DD will be fine!!

I started invisalign a week before lockdown. 13 week treatment (13 aligners). I had no appointments during lockdown obviously, then had an appointment 2 weeks ago at the end of week 13 to scan for refinement aligners. I've been very lucky as my treatment wasn't delayed and dentists opened just when I was on my last aligner. I would go through a dentist and not the online version. Highly recommend the treatment, the results are amazing.
