What are we currently allowed to do?

I feel like I'm overloaded with information.
We are allowed to go to non essential shops but cannot try clothes on - fine.
We are allowed to dine out.
We are allowed to the hairdressers.
We are allowed in pubs when booking a table.

Are we allowed to go into people's homes? See family in their homes? What are the guidelines? Can we use their loos?

We have been so see PILS (in their 60s) who have basically stayed at home since March and had shopping delivered and they didn't bother with much social distancing and DP seemed OK with it.
I'm thinking of visiting my mum and dad who live a bit further away as they haven't seen DCs since March (we've seen PILs in their garden a few times as they are very close to us) and DP said if I do we will have to make sure we don't see PILs for 14 days after visiting as my DF who is self employed has been working throughout and he thinks it poses a risk.

My brains a bit frazzled and I'm not sure what's ok and what's not. When I look around I see people completely ignoring any and all rules and doing as they please and some people taking every precaution imaginable.
What is the general consensus?

Just think about how you managed to function in normal society without being told what to do before the virus and apply that rationality.

It all changes every few days. I'm helping out with a charity sale next week & will just go with whatever rules I'm told on the morning. I suspect the other seller ladies are hyper on rules & will literally scold anyone who doesn't slather their hands with anti-germ gel each time they want to touch an object, like if they want to hold it up for sizing. I could imagine some bitching at end if anyone got within 1.5metres of people outside their household. The property where sale is held is massive & I am gently trying to push for sale to happen somewhere with covered walkway in case of bad weather, but I suspect the sellers will freak out because... they are already overloaded with all the rules they want us to follow. They can't think outside of the many other rules they want to follow.

Hope I'm wrong.

You can visit your family, use their toilet and stay overnight. You are supposed to maintain social distancing but I dont know anyone who has been to stay st someone's house and stayed 2m away from them at all times.

The 2 weeks thing is your own choice. If you want to be really sure that you havent caught anything from your parents, you might want to wait 2 weeks before visiting PILs. This is not in any sort of guidance but might be sensible if your PILs have health problems

Based on what people say on here, no matter what you do, you'll have the 'shame' woman from Game of Thrones following you around.

Honestly just be informed & work it out for yourself

All the information you are asking about is on the government website, surely if you want to know what stage we are in the easing of lockdown you would go to the official source rather than a bunch of randoms on the internet?

I find it very strange that the same question comes up time and time again. Do people not actually know that the government publish all the information on their official website?
