Hi I had a holiday booked to Lanzarote in September as it turned out I couldn't go anyway (not to do with the virus) I knew I wasn't going anyway and stood to lose £600, I hadn't cancelled it but received an email yesterday saying tui was cancelling it so I was entitled to a full refund ! Of course I am thrilled as I wasn't able to go but I'm just wondering why it was cancelled if holidays can go ahead now? Anyone else had this happen? Not clear on the email and I can't be bothered to call them

Either the hotel or the flights have maybe been cancelled so TUI can't honour the booking

Maybe they are reducing the amount of flights they make to a destination each week. Previously maybe they flew there daily and now only 1 or 2 times a week. The hotel could still plan on being closed when you are due to travel and there wasnt another hotel that could accommodate you.

Glad you will get your money back hopefully you will be able to enjoy the holiday next year instead

Tui are cancelling flights all over the place. I know lots who have had Turkish holidays cancelled from Tui but most going ahead from Jet2 and EasyJet

We had ours cancelled yesterday because the hotel isn't open. We were so looking forward to it.

I’m so relieved tbh, I wanted to go but couldn’t and I was so upset to lose the £600 (it was a low cost deposit holiday) but full deposit was £600 which was non refundable so just lucky I didn’t cancel yet! My sister was convinced that it would be going ahead.

We had our end sept holiday cancelled by jet 2. They aren't flying to our destination until December now. Also all the other flight schedules seem to have gone out of the window so people are having holidays cancelled left right and centre because of this. I've read a lot of comments on jet 2 Facebook page where it seems flights that used to go on certain days eg Saturday are now only going on different days eg Sunday so jet2 have cancelled the holiday. People have then tried to rebook for the Sunday and the price has increased.

That is good fortune, £600 would have been a lot to lose Smile

I'm flying there in 2 weeks and not cancelled so I'm guessing it's your hotel

A friends DD booked a flight, which was then cancelled. However, she was able to rebook it at a higher price Hmm She'd booked the hotel separately.
