Towels and bed linen

Our Scottish holiday cottage says they can't supply towels or bed linen. It's ok, we can take with although will have to buy some as the double is a different size to ours but I can't work out why this? Anybody understand the rationale?

Seems odd to me, why would covid affect washable linens? Have they said it’s because of Covid?

In our Airbnb we are providing linens as usual.

I think it was mentioned on another holiday cottage related thread that some of the operators had advised this so cleaners didn't have to handle dirty laundry....

pandafunfactory · 08/07/2020 20:21

It sounds like they've been advised to do this. I would have suggested water soluble laundry bags and PPE but I guess it's up to them. Just a bit odd.

We've been asked to take our own pillows and duvets. We always take pillows anyway partly for the long car journey and partly because I'm fussy. I'm just glad I have a large car!

We have been asked to bring towels but not bed linen. I don’t know why one and not the other

BananaPop2020 · 08/07/2020 20:45

Ludicrous

MereDintofPandiculation · 08/07/2020 21:15

It's beginning to feel not much like a holiday. Bring your own towels and bed linen, bring your own duvets, cushions removed, DVD players and tvs removed because of transmission via the remote, "unnecessary" stuff removed from the kitchen - all those little extras that make you feel a bit pampered won't be there. If we hadn't booked before Covid, I probably wouldn't bother going.

pandafunfactory · 08/07/2020 23:08

Hope they don't ask us to bring duvets!

That’s a bit OTT. I look after air bnb properties and we don’t ask this. I was wondering if it was rude to even ask guests to strip beds themselves!
Each to their own I suppose

As long as nobody comes on here to say that coronavirus lives on bedding and towels even after being washed at 60C and tumble dried...
