Has anyone done the 2 week quarantine after travel and has anyone been checked up on? DH reckons they won’t be checking whereas I think there is a chance they will

Where you going as there’s no 2 week quarantine anymore

BrieAndChilli · 06/07/2020 20:58

SIL is coming back from Dubai, she has been living and working there but is coming back to the U.K. for a few months. Is coming to stay with us for the 2 week period.

daisymay133 there is until this coming Friday

OP, afaik no fines for breaking quarantine have been issued, which seems to indicate no check-ups!

noraclavicle · 06/07/2020 21:07

caveat to my post daisymay133 that’s a specific list of countries for which quarantine restrictions being dropped - Dubai not currently on list, hence OP’s question!

BrieAndChilli · 06/07/2020 21:11

I actually think there’s more chance of SIL catching it from us than us from her!!!
Dubai have to wear masks in public, are sanitising the streets etc. During thier lockdown they had to apply for a permit to go to the shops, and speed cameras were dining you if you were out in your car at night. Before she fly’s back she has to provide a negative test that has been taken in the 48 hours prior to travel. Meanwhile my 3 kids are going into school once a week and people get in your face in the supermarket breathing all over you like there’s not a pandemic going on!!

Ah I see

I know a few people who’ve travelled lately and none have isolated

The levels are so low now - I’m in one of the highest areas of the uk and we had 3 new cases yesterday out of 115000 it’s ridiculous

Same with contact tracing - people won’t isolate as it’s advisory and not currently law

I may do as I get paid but not one of my mates plans so as all would only get ssp and let’s face it you could be contacted every month!

@BrieAndChilli you need to find other supermarkets to shop at. No one has been coughing over me and you just have to be more patient and wait for people to move.

Will you have to self isolate too if they stay in your house?
