So I saw a post ( I have a attached) of someone saying that they have been duplicating new cases & they have had to remove over 30k from the UK total new cases & that Leicester (where I'm from) has been put into lockdown based on these duplications!! I've learnt not to believe everything I read on social media so I went onto the government website to see & I kid you not it's on there!! They over calculated over 30k new cases!! I have screenshot & attached from the governments website! Also this makes sense because on Friday evening I always check the new cases/deaths on worldemetre

www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Which they refresh at midnight & they did not get added on on Friday which makes me think that's when they realised the figures have been wrong!!

They've merged datasets to remove duplication between covid positive tests and positive antibody tests, as well as tests to verify cases. As we've had lots of cases that were never confirmed, it hasn't made a difference. It also didn't change Leicester's recent numbers, while investigation continues into the source s (crap factories who didn't put social distancing in place). Would you prefer to let the virus run out of control in Leicester, or stop it in its tracks there?

A similar thing happened near here. A hospital duplicated figures, people panicked. Then they realised they’d made an error.
