When you want to order, what do you do if you don't go and wait at the bar?

It will depend on the pub. Phone ahead and ask. Some will only be letting you in if you have booked a table.

I'm off to a carvery tomorrow. I've been told its not a carvery but you have to tell them what you want they will being it from the kitchen no helping yourself. So you cant load up
Table service , including drinks, you order and pay at the bar and sit down they will bring it to you
Wetherspoons want you to preferably use the app and no going to the bar if you can help it .
I'm going to a marstons chain and I've had to book a table
No waiting at the bar , a truck driver told me today he sits all week and wanted to stand for circulation, he was told to sit or leave
Wearing of masks optional , but if I want to have my dinner served to me and I prefer they wear a mask ( can't stand 2 meters serving my dinner unless they've got go go gadget arms ,) then they can accommodate that

Greene king chain near me have said we have 1 hr 45 mins slot for dinner only .
Dont know how they will police that if I'm halfway through a bottle of wine , I'd be mindful but others might not be and could refuse to leave
Most places are asking for your name and phone number for track and trace on a form but you don't have to give it , its optional

Started back at a pub yesterday.
Staff have their temperature taken at the start of every shift.
If you sit inside it’s table service only & tables/chairs etc are cleaned between
No condiments on tables - we serve in individual pots when asked
A quarantine section in the kitchen for salt & pepper after customers have used them
Designated waitress rather than previously whoever was available served
One way system in & out of the pub
Every customer to provide contact details
No standing at the bar
Toilets cleaned every 20 minutes
All staff & customers to use hand sanitizer on entry
I’m a chef & cannot enter the washer upers area of the kitchen & so I cannot access the largest fridge & freezer. I have to ask stuff to be passed to me.
My area was a wreck because I can’t take my washing up over or access the sinks.
It was mentally & physically exhausting & I’m dreading my shift today 😫

Here you get seated, then our server comes to take your first order after a few minutes. They then come back every half an hour or so to ask if anyone needs anything. They stand 2m away unless they are passing drinks to you, and wear masks. Payment is typically before you leave, and contactless or card payments only.

You have your temperature checked on the way in, and there are hand sanitizer stations on the entrance and exit.
