Going to second home in Wales

We have a second home in Wales and the new guidance about going there is confusing. We wouldn’t be going to stay in a holiday let which is allowed next Saturday but, as the travel restrictions are being lifted from this Monday, would we be able to travel down to check the house? Our neighbour has told us we have a number of fences blown down. We would only be staying a few nights and would take all food/DIY equipment so we wouldn’t be leaving the property.

We’re unsure if we’re allowed to cross the border now though Confused

I thought you could only travel freely within Wales, not from outside.

I think you can go from Monday. In a similar situation and I’ve read everything on it I can. You can travel in and out of Wales and go more than 5 miles from Monday so I’d say it’s fine. There was something on the BBC saying similar but I can’t find it at the moment.

The people who own the house next door but one to me but leave it empty and live in Liverpool are already here. They have been here since Friday morning. Think they have come to sort their garden out but we have had so much rain! Hope it dries up a bit tomorrow.

People have been able to come into wakes right from the start. To care for relatives, for work, and other essential journeys. Since the 5 mil rule came in, theyve been able to come 5 miles across the border. From Monday it's back to normal, anyone can come in, not sure about overnight, but I'd just do it noone cares anymore
