Donating plasma

Has anyone else received a call recently about this? I put myself down as a possible donor in April after having covid fairly mildly but for a few weeks and got a call today. I was surprised to be told halfway through that I wasn't eligible because I didn't weigh enough! Why would that be? I'm not underweight, I have a low-normal BMI. The woman said I would need to weigh 10 stone to be eligible (I'm 5'9'' and weigh a bit over 9 stone, but healthy, not really thin). Would I really have a much higher blood volume if I gained weight?

Interesting- i know there is a minimum to give blood, but that's only 110lb, though that maybe relative to height - that's what it's for for me at 5ft 4. Stands to reason it would be the same for plasma I guess, related to height?
